of course I'm glad,
I'm doing what I want to do
feeling high among these kids
for a start
with Young Heap I could drum the Stones
it was back in 66
then the Mice became the group
where I first sang songs and hits
I can’t recall
Oncle Mad was when I first began to show and La Guatlleta was our home
time did fly, was on my side
life could wait but not my pride

then a change,
Ozono was a serious time
Jordi was behind
after that,
VH would knock upon my door
so I joined them in number 4
funny guys
with them I tell ya I learned a lot always there just on the dot
time did fly, was on my side

that's when I began
to write some stuff
words and songs for everyone
since then I have written hundreds
a score is but a crap but others are wondrous
when the lady is by my side I can write just like angels
but when she’s gone I feel like being helpless
"eta in a jiffy" was a peak
but then "as we diffract our hope"
wasn't much farther
"infidox", was a milestone in my way but I cannot forget them all,
some are fantastic

so I sing though I can’t breathe
or tune quite well
wish I had a much better voice
rock ‘n’ roll or pop or blues
or dirty soul
the entertainer of the show
I don't know if I am good or not
all I think is I am loved
I’ll be glad to be remembered
as one who sang and jumped
and wrote some odd poems
and loved his friends and girls
and smiled quite so often
the clown no one knew well,
it doesn’t matter
someone who could cry
when someone else was hurt
who helped his friends
when they were down,
nothing else matters
someone who could play
with all the words he knew
bamboozled by a lot or few
sooner or later
